Ecology Web:
The Sonoran Desert
and the Tohono O'odham

The image shows the saguro waiting for rain, the saguaro blossoms, women harvesting the fruit, grandparents cooking the fruit, People dancing the Rain Dance, People participating in the Rain-making Ceremony, and the rain falling from the clouds.

The purpose of this web is to show the interdependence between the People and nature
and to clarify the progression of the events in the saguaro fruit harvest,
rain-making ceremony, and the coming of the rain.

With the addition of the narrator, the parts of this ecology web reflect the "voices" in the poem:
Clouds, Saguaros, Flowers, Women, Grandparents, Medicine Man (Rain Dance),
Headman (Rain-making Ceremony), and the Rain (All voices in unison).
