| This Web-based slide show is designed to support students' presentation
of the choral reading of Sing Down the Rain. It can be projected
from the Web as students perform. Readers, however, must be in the light
in order to see their readers' theatre scripts. The slides are best viewed
in the dark. You will have to make adjustments based on your performance
environment.
The slide show can also be used as one person reads the book. When I read the poem as just one voice, I do not read all the verses. After the first cloud verse and until I reach the rain storm, I share only the new voice and the cloud voice. There are 12 slides in the show. The slide sequence matches the sequence of illustrations in the book. For a seamless presentation, open each page in advance in order to build a cache of the interlaced gif image files.
