Inquiry Rubric

The total possible learning points for this experience is 50.

The online discussions are individual points. 5 points for each posting; 5 points for each response for three weeks for a total of: 30 possible individual points.

The 20 group points for the annotated bibliography (with the introduction) as determined by the class are as follows:

5 points for the introduction, which includes the final inquiry question as well as other questions considered, the themes that emerged in the group's discussions, and some indication of how the group negotiated to determine the final question. (one to two paragraphs)

15 points for the annotated bibliography. Each annotation will include:

the bibliographic information,
a brief summary of the plot (and illustrations if it's a picture book),
a one-sentence that indicates this resource's connection to the inquiry,
and the contributor's name in parentheses.

Each person in the group will contribute one or two annotations.

These are some of the possible types of texts to include: picture books, novels, informational books, poetry, newspaper articles, Web sites, professional articles or books, and more.
