About the Reviewer:
Erin Zinn was born in Freehold, New Jersey and moved at
three weeks of age to Tucson, Arizona. From the time she was
eight, Erin knew she wanted to be a teacher. She would spend
her time at home in her bedroom teaching her stuffed animals
math, science, and reading. Now with her two-year-old daughter,
Katherine, she is engaged in teaching her the alphabet and
how to count. Erin knows that teaching is a lot of work; but
she truly believes that she has the ability to teach the children
will she comes in contact with. For Erin to be able to teach
is a dream come true, and her education classes with Northern
Arizona University bring her one step closer to fulfilling
that dream.
As a parent, Erin feels that a child's literacy learning
is the key to their development. She knows that the educational
process is hard and that is why it is her greatest desire
to help children grow and learn about the world around them.
She strongly believes that every child has the ability and
should have the right to learn. Erin's life long goal is to
help all of the children that she might encounter to reach
their true potential, whether they are walking down the hall
or students in her own classroom. Erin also feels that her
classroom should be a place where students want to be and
are surrounded with numerous activities to engage them in
the learning process. (Fall 2004)
