About the Reviewer:
Vicki Ellis is a junior at the University of Arizona. Vicki
is a native of Arizona and hopes to teach elementary school
in the city of Tucson. She is committed to literacy, and the
benefits that are associated with strong reading skills. She
is dedicated to incorporating her love of reading in her future
classrooms. Vicki hopes to foster, creativity, self-expression,
confidence and individuality in her future students. She is
currently enrolled in "Children's Literature in the Classroom"
course.
In addition to being a future educator, Vicki is a wife and
an aunt. She is a fan of the University of Arizona men's football
and basketball teams. She enjoys spending time with her two
dogs; a Bassett Hound named Billy and a German Shepard named
Buddy. She has volunteered her free-time working with children
as a soccer coach for the Arizona Youth Soccer Organization,
as a Boys and Girls Club mentor, and as a teacher's helper.
Although she does not have children of her own, she believes
that children are individuals that need love, support, and guidance
from all adults in their community. (Spring 2002)
