Way Out West Lives a Coyote Named Frank
I shared this book with Connie Bailey's first grade class at Vesey
Elementary School. After reading the book, the students were given the
beginning of this sentence. "If I had a desert animal, it would
be...". They started by drawing the picture of their animals. Then
they finished the sentence and wrote a short story to name their desert
animal. Mrs. Bailey's students were very particular, and spent a lot
of time making their artwork and sentences perfect.
If I had a desert animal, it would be a coyote and its name
would be Ladeda. A scorpion and a snake were chasing Ladeda.
