News: "Books for Dallas Babies," a collaborative project of the Friends of the Dallas Public Library and Parkland Health and Hospital System, gave 12,000 copies of Vamos a leer/Read to Me to families of newborns in 2016. The partners continued this successful project in 2017 and 2018. Tarrant County/Fort Worth Public Library and the JPS Health Network began their "Books for Tarrant County Babies" partnership in January, 2017. The two inititiaves have a shared Web-presence at Books for Texas Babies.

|As an educator,
I currently work as a literacies and libraries consultant and serve as a mentor for the Lilead Project. I have served as a school librarian at every instructional level.
I have also been a classroom teacher, district-level librarian
mentor, literacy coach, and classroom teacher educator. I taught preservice school librarians and children's and youth services public librarians for twenty-one years and am a recently retired associate professor.
